On My #EventsToBeScene List: November 2016
November, the glorious month of bad eating habits, bad shopping habits and over-eager Christmas preparations. It’s here and it’s ready for you. Left over Halloween candy? Check. Christmas Carousel? Check. Eighty-degree weather? Double-check.
These #EventsToBeScene are on my calendar for the upcoming month.
Nov. 3-6 at 7:30 p.m.
36th annual Junior League Christmas Carousel at the Abilene Civic Center includes a weekend of shopping and entertainment for children and adults alike. About 100 merchants from Texas and beyond will sell everything from gifts, food and clothing. Special family night entertainment for the children.
It’s always fun to support this great cause AND all our local vendors.
Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Celebrity Attractions presents “Elf the Musical,” a hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. He later embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and to help New Yorkers remember the true meaning of Christmas. Abilene Civic Center auditorium.
I wanted to go to this last year and I didn’t get the chance. I’m excited that this show came back to Abilene!

Rediscover the charm of Christmas in downtown as merchants, museums and galleries open their doors for an evening of holiday cheer!
