The Nutcracker

The 35th anniversary of The Nutcracker ushers in the holiday season in Abilene as if a dream. Perhaps it is all a dream for Clara, who receives a magical Nutcracker at her family’s Christmas party and is transported into another world. Following a battle between scurrying mice, soldiers and her Nutcracker hero in her living room under a giant Christmas tree, Clara is transported through a snowy forest to the Land of the Sweets, where she is greeted by dancing characters from all over the world.

Don’t miss this beloved holiday classic!

Winter Lightfest is a 3/4 mile walking trail with over 2.1 million lights that intertwine iconic displays, breathtaking light features, and animated displays. 33rd Annual FOX West Texas Christmas Lights Parade

You’ll feel at home for the holidays when you discover the charm of Christmas in downtown Abilene in the 33rd Annual Christmas Lights Parade. This year’s Christmas Lights Parade is about Memories: to appreciate what is, what was, and what will be. Merchants, museums, and galleries will open their decorated doors for an evening of holiday cheer, fun activities, and shopping. Highlights include a parade of lights, musical performances, and free goodies. Organized through the dynamic teamwork of the Abilene Downtown Association and parade with Fox West Texas.

Safety City will be decorated with tons of lights, and open to the public, plus Santa will be there every night, too! The Kiwanis Club of Abilene has partnered with the Abilene Fire Department to make this event even better! Kiwanis is all about serving and helping kids, so this amazing event is simply a gift to the families of Abilene and surrounding areas.
