Show by artists Marlo and Jerry Whetsel “Sugar Punk.” Opens ArtWalk night at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8. at Cockerell Galleries & Studios. 

Through Sept. 9

Tri-University Art Exhibition at ACU Downtown Gallery. Closing reception is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 8. The exhibition features the work by the Art and Design Faculty from Abilene Christian, McMurry and Hardin-Simmons universities.

“Toys in the Attic” at McMurry University by Dewane Hughes in conjunction with the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council’s biennial Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition SculpTour. Reception is 5-6 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Ryan Gallery.

Student exhibition in Gypsy Ted Gallery at McMurry University.

Through Sept. 30

“Sincerely, Mark Teague” at the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature. Teague is the illustrator of the best-selling “How Do Dinosaurs” series by author Jane Yolen, the “Poppleton” pig series by Cynthia Rylant, and he is author/illustrator of the “Dear Mrs. LaRue” series.

“The Best Deal” – Paintings by Charlie Hukill in the Breed Gallery of the Center for Contemporary Arts.

Keystone Art Classes Taught by Artist Marianne Wood, Cockerell Galleries, second floor, Studio 205

Mesquite Story Tellers: Meets the third Tuesday of each month 7-8:30 p.m. in Studio 209, second floor, Cockerell Galleries. Free. All ages welcome.
