Gathering Beneath the Oaks

November 2, 2026 Leave a Comment

“Tucked beneath a canopy of oaks and set across six quiet acres, Oak & Ivory is a place where moments slow and memories begin to take shape.”

If that doesn’t make you want to plan an event at Oak & Ivory Event and Wedding Estate, nothing will. The estate, formerly known as The Grove at Denton Valley, was purchased in March 2026 by Brian and Mia Nagy. They immediately started planning the transition from a wedding-only venue to a year-round gathering place for all types of gatherings including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events, holiday parties and community events.

“From the beginning, we knew we wanted to honor what people already loved about the property — the beautiful mature oak trees, the outdoor setting and the feeling you get when you arrive,” Mia said, “while creating a new identity and expanding what the property could offer.”

The upcoming holiday season will be a time for introducing people to the repurposed venue. Mia and Brian invite people to consider Oak & Ivory for family and corporate holiday parties and other seasonal events. The gatherings don’t have to be large. Oak & Ivory is the perfect setting for smaller, more intimate events, too.

“We want the estate to feel elevated and beautiful while still being warm, welcoming and approachable,” Mia said.

The big push will come in the spring of 2027 when Oak & Ivory will invite guests to intimate dinners featuring thoughtfully paired food and wine with a limited number of guests. Those will be in addition to private rental events. Also, in the planning stages are live music events and seasonal experiences. Brian and Mia feel a need for giving back to the community, so long-term plans call for partnering with local organizations for community focused events.

Brian and Mia both bring something unique to Oak & Ivory. Mia has spent the past 15 years as a professional photographer and has years of experience in the wedding industry. From behind the lens, she knows what makes a space beautiful for a photograph. But more importantly, she knows what makes the experience feel special for the people living it.

“My years as a photographer have taught me that the best events aren’t necessarily the biggest or most elaborate,” she said. “They’re the ones where people feel something. That’s what we’re trying to create here.”

Brian complements Mia’s experience with more than 20 years in event and wedding planning, creating seamless, memorable celebrations for every couple and guest who walks through the gates at Oak & Ivory.

With five children of their own ranging in ages from 11 to 24 years, Brian and Mia place a huge emphasis on family. Their own family influenced what they envisioned for Oak & Ivory when they purchased it. They see it as a place where families can celebrate life milestones in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

“We understand how meaningful the places are where families gather for the biggest moments of their lives,” Mia said. “Brian and I didn’t purchase it because we wanted to simply operate a wedding venue. We saw the potential to create an estate centered around gatherings — weddings, celebrations, beautiful dinners beneath the oaks, live music, community events and moments people remember.”

From the moment that the property became available, Brian and Mia knew they had to have it. It was the ideal setting to carry out their dreams of a place to celebrate being with friends and family, plus a longing to return. After all, the setting alone is a little bit of heaven in West Texas.

Mia describes Oak & Ivory in her own poetic way:

“There is something incredibly special about gathering beneath these huge oak trees as the sun starts going down and the string lights come on. We didn’t want to change the soul of the property. We wanted to elevate it, care for it and give it a new chapter. That became Oak & Ivory Estate.”
