One of my favorite parts of spring the past two years has been the Mill’s dance class series! Last year I took a sultry heels hip-hop from Kirby Wilkerson. This year, I dragged my husband out to a line dancing class with Seth Willis.
The good news is it’s the perfect time of year to make sure that your line dancing skills are, well, “in line.” You know. What with wedding season starting up again. We have a wedding coming up this weekend and now we are legitimately prepared to bust a move.
So here we are! If you’ve never taken a class with Seth, I highly recommend it. He’s a very fun and engaging instructor. We will actually be back this week (April 5th) for the Waltz class he is teaching, so if you make it out you will see us there!
We learned the following from Seth with wine (which is obviously the best way) but you can also learn these 5 line dances online!
- Copperhead Road
- Boot Scootin’ Boogie
- Happy
- Footloose
- Uptown Funk (see video below)
Here is awkward video proof that even after wine I’m still a bit camera shy. Also, video proof that there’s a very large disconnect between what I think I look like and what I actually look like. You are definitely not alone if you are feeling embarrassed. Just dive-in and go for it! Your fear is your only limit.
These are such a fun opportunity to get out and about, burn some calories and have a good time doing it. I recommend trying one of these classes if you ever get a chance. #EventsToBeScene like these sure are a helpful part of keeping Abilene lively.
It’s a fun reminder to know that Abilene’s only as boring as you are, so get out there and have some fun!
