The sidewalks will be busy this Tuesday evening in downtown Abilene. The community will gather and line the streets to see Santa and his holiday crew light up the Key City. Prepping for an evening outdoors on the first of December can be tricky business but we have a few suggestions to help keep you warm and comfortable enough to view the parade through the child-like lens of Christmas excitement.
Blankets. Blankest are a must. They function wonderfully as portable seating alternatives but you can’t forget to bring extra to cover yourself and keep your loved ones warm and toasty.
A thermos of your favorite hot holiday drink. If you want a good view of the parade you must get there early and that means holding you space on the street for an extended period of time before the parade even starts! To warm the heart and maintain that holiday spirit a little wassil or hot cocoa can go a long long way.
Your Holiday spirit. We honestly don’t think it’s appropriate to attend this event without a holiday sweater or Santa hat of some sort. When it comes to bringing your holiday spirit to the City Sidewalks Christmas parade all we can say is: the more the Merrier!
A song in your heart! Carols abound in downtown Abilene during the annual Christmas parade. If you are not prepared to sing along you may be quickly left out by all of the festive floats. Driving by, they invite participation from the parade audience.
Pictures to follow!
