Jack-O-Lantern Cocktails

Make any clear glass festive by using black duct tape to create a Jack-O-Lantern, add your favorite orange beverage-any drink becomes a seasonal sip!

Halloween Sunset

ounces tangerine juice

1 1/2 ounces white rum

3/4 ounce grenadine

Ice cubes

Combine juice and rum in a tall glass filled with ice. Top with grenadine. Serve.

Pear Cosmopolitan

2 anjou pear slices
Juice of 1/2 a pressed lime
1 ounce cranberry juice
1-1/2 ounces citrus vodka
1/2 ounce triple sec
3 cranberries, for garnish

In a mixing glass, muddle pear slices, lime juice, and cranberry juice. Add liquors and ice, shake wellstrain into martini glass. Garnish with 3 cranberries on a cocktail pick.

Candy Cane Cocoa

8 cups 2% reduced-fat milk

3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped

12 candy canes

3/4 cup miniature marshmallows

Whole grated nutmeg (optional)

Combine milk, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, and semisweet chocolate in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook 25 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth, stirring occasionally. Serve with candy canes and marshmallows. Garnish with whole grated nutmeg, if desired.  Add crème de menthe or peppermint schnapps for a holiday night cap!
