These Abilene Philharmonic T-Shirts feature original art by H.C. Zachry. The same art is on the philharmonic’s new “Notable” holiday cookbook available in local Abilene bookstores.
Signed children’s books and stuffed toys
The gift shop at the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, 102 Cedar St., is stocked up with picture books by your favorite illustrators. Many of the books are signed by the artists themselves. Some of the beloved characters are available for purchase as a plush toy, including Puss ‘N Boots for $15.
MINI-GRACE
The Grace Museum sells art books, “The Amazing Grace Coffee Shop” cookbooks and more. For only $3, you can buy a beautifully painted wooden cutout of the museum with its history on the back.
Tumbleweed TexStyles
The Frontier Texas! gift shop exclusively sells this unique Texas brand of T-shirts in Abilene. These are the same shirts that “The Daytripper’s” Chet Garner wears on the PBS television show.
Historic building replicas
The Abilene Preservation League, 1174 N. 1st St., sells collectible miniature, lighted versions of five of Abilene’s most admired historic buildings. The buildings include the Swenson House, T&P Depot, The Grace Museum, Paramount Theatre and the Old Weather Bureau. The replicas start at $50 (discount for APL members). Buy your loved one a membership to one of our many arts and cultural groups. Memberships include newsletters, discounts and other perks. Memberships are an important fundraising tool for our nonprofits. The Abilene Zoo has a Tall Neck Club a child can join for $35 that includes a plush giraffe, a tour of the new giraffe barn and have their name on permanent signage.
