A Head Start on Christmas Spirit

November 7, 2016 Leave a Comment

Christmas Carousel is an Abilene classic. Year after year people are excited to have an opportunity to buy all their Christmas gifts in one convenient location. With all of the lovely vendors you can’t go wrong!

This year I had the opportunity to attend the preview party, and it was as festive as you’d imagine. Decorated as a “Frozen” themed as your Disney-loving hearts could dream.

Crisply delicious culinary treats created by Darren Grace kept us from going hungry as we shopped. While the lovely Megan Calvery crooned a subtle yet satisfyingly county Christmas acoustic set. What stole the show for me were the exciting “Frosted” drinks! You could add a small dose of Hello Cotton Candy to any drink of your choice.  I tried it with the white wine and I’ve gotta say it’s a fancy way to dress up a drink.

The spun sugar turns your drink into a snow globe with a peaceful snowfall as the sugar melts to the bottom. Try it.  I dare you.

BTW drinks always help when you shop.  Everyone needs a little extra confidence to make those hard-hitting gift-giving decisions.

The hit of the season is obviously the screen-printed Ts. But really.  Can you ever get enough of these??

This is a fun opportunity to browse the popular online hits like M.E.&You and Oliver&Otis in person! But I’m going to warn you not to ignore the other contenders! I met a lovely woman who started Tees4Two and she partners with a mission team to donate a tee to someone in need with every purchase.  Be sure to browse all the options. It’s definitely worth it.

I might even encourage you to buy all the things!  Just ask my college roommate.  I’ve been known to do that.  Seriously don’t go shopping with me unless you want to spend money.

If you haven’t been to the preview party before.  Let me tell you, it’s worth it.  No crowds.  Live music.  Snacks and drinks.  What more could you want from a Christmas gift shopping spree?

In the spirit of Christmas, if you want to know more about Jr. League and the projects the donate to, check out their website. They do good things.
