The Grace Museum will have a Gallery Pop-Up for Black History Month inspired by Huckaby pieces in the museum’s permanent collection. Visitors can learn about how Black artists pull from their experiences as well as those of their ancestors to create meaningful art. Visitors can create a silhouette to decorate.

Paramount Abilene presents “Napoleon Dynamite: LIVE!” This special night includes a full screening of the hit movie followed by a lively, freewheeling discussion with the movie’s fan-favorite cast members – Jon Heder (Napoleon), Joe Gries (Uncle Rico), and Efren Ramirez (Pedro). The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature is partnering with KACU FM, Abilene’s NPR station, for an on-air fundraiser with podcast "Here Wee Read" and special NCCIL artist guests the Pumphrey Brothers.

The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature is welcoming exhibiting children’s book artists the Pumphrey Brothers with special activities. The morning starts with a workshop with the artists at 9 a.m. that is $5 for museum members and $20 for the general public followed by Family Fun Saturday until 12 p.m. Tour the gallery to see original artwork by the Pumphreys and get signed books from the gift shop.

Mining the comedy of missed connections, this show asks the serious question of how often we travel parallel paths through the world without noticing.

The reception and artist talks for the Hardin-Simmons University Adjunct Faculty Exhibition will take place in the Ira M. Taylor Gallery. The exhibition runs Feb. 12 through March 6.
